Types of Asbestos Surveys

To suit all requirements we offer a variety of asbestos surveys as defined in the HSE Document MDHS100.

The type of asbestos survey you require will depend upon the task you have in hand.

Type 1	Location and Assessment Asbestos Survey	Presumptive Asbestos Surveys
Type 2	Sampling, Identification Assessment Asbestos Survey	Sampling Asbestos Surveys
Type 3	Full Access / Intrusive Sampling and Identification Asbestos Survey	Pre-demolition or Major Refurbishment Asbestos Surveys

A Type 2 asbestos survey usually provides the basis for an asbestos register and subsequent management plan as defined in Regulation 4 of CAR 2006. However it should be noted that a Type III asbestos survey will be required in areas undergoing major refurbishment or demolition to ensure all asbestos containing materials are located with the designated area .
